Balance & Believe Foundation Golf Outing
The Balance & Believe Foundation, based in Madison, WI, was formed in 2014 by Derek Schnarr to help promote junior golf, teach life lessons, and focus on community service. These three pillars of the Foundation come together in the Foundation's mission statement - Promoting junior golf, while providing a platform for kids to give back to the community.
Over the past four years the Foundation has used this event, previously called the Michael Luedtke Memorial Golf Outing, to raise the necessary funds to support a multitude of programs and worthy causes in the Madison area. These range from the Food Pantry and Resource Center at Falk Elementary School, to the Snack Pack program and Chromebooks at Olson Elementary School, UW Children's Hospital, Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation, expansion of the B&B 36 program, Longest Day of Golf, and the B&B Community, Michael Luedtke, and Dick Wilson Memorial Scholarships.
Recently, the Foundation has partnered with the Wisconsin PGA to become the presenting sponsor of their Junior Golf Tour. The WPGA Junior Tour hosts over 40 tournaments during the course of the summer at venues all across the state of Wisconsin.
The Balance & Believe Foundation Golf Outing is open to all who wish to play and will be hosted by Blackhawk Country Club on September 17th, 2018. Format for the event is a four person, two best ball, "shamble." A shamble is a unique format in which the tee shot is played in a scramble format, so the most desirable shot is chosen, and from there each player plays their own ball into the hole. Then once all four players have finished the hole the lowest two scores are counted.
